Sony Pictures appears to be developing some kind of project bearing the title "Console War" (or some similar derivation), based on a long list of web domain registrations discovered by Fusible (via Joystiq). The registrations were made through the third-party firm MarkMonitor and they only appear to connect with Sony's film division. Many of the domains also specifically refer to "movie," which you commonly see used for official movie website URLs.
The question we have now is: what the heck is Console War? Could Sony be developing an undoubtedly biased take on the history of the company's gaming division, either in a documentary format or a fictional format? Maybe Console War looks back to the '80s/'90s era, when Nintendo and Sega duked it out with competing consoles and mascots. Or perhaps this project is really about a future world war in which the Sony fanfolk ally with the global community of Xbots to take on Apple's marching iRobot armies.
We can all only hope it's that last one. To paraphrase the words of a great man: PlayStation fans and Xbox fans, living together. MASS HYSTERIA!
